As an artist, sometimes you need to remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing. It’s easy to become immersed in working on drawings and paintings, websites and juried show entries and all the other “stuff” that goes into being a professional artist. But the WHY – that’s the touchstone and the energy that fuels the ongoing efforts.
My watercolor wax batik paintings are almost exclusively paintings of wildlife. But what is the prompting within me that keeps me coming back to depicting the wild critters that live among and around us? In other words, why do I do this – and not “that”?
